I provide transaction advisory services in relation to the regulatory and commercial framework for investment in Nigeria and Africa, especially in the Oil & Gas, Power, Infrastructure and Technology sectors.
I have advised on and negotiated relevant agreements for the establishment, development and construction of thermal power plants, hydro power plants, a modular refinery, embedded and captive power projects, distribution infrastructure for the supply of electricity under the Eligible Customer framework, rural electrification and renewable energy projects.
I have similarly advised on private equity investment and restructuring of a Power-As-A-Service multinational company with operational bases across Africa; the restructuring of a Gas-To-Liquid joint venture; offtake and supply of gas; the divestment of oil and gas assets by an international oil company and the acquisition of oil and gas assets by indigenous petroleum producers; restructuring of an aviation company and expansion of a multinational lottery company’s services to Nigeria, among others.
I have deployed my dispute resolution skills at various levels of court as well as mediation and arbitration panels for matters bordering on labour issues, medical negligence, debt recovery, copyright and disputes over exploration licences.
Between December 2019 and February 2022, I served as the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Young Lawyers’ Forum, in which capacity I formulated and implemented notable and transformational initiatives for the advancement of young lawyers across Nigeria.
In the past, I served as a member of the collaborative committee of the Nigerian Bar Association -Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL) and the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) on business reforms; and a member of the NBA Lagos Continuing Legal Education & Mentorship Committee.
I have contributed research papers on Renewable Energy, Aviation, Health Litigation, Gas Regulation and Water Resources to the Lawyard Journal, International Law Office, Getting the Deal Through, the World Bank’s Enabling the Business of Agriculture (EBA) journals respectively, among others.
My other activities include curating essays, interviews and legal resources for Lawyard (accessible at www.lawyard.org), Nigeria’s top legal media and services platform. In my spare time, I write love poems.
